I read, all the major audio forums daily, it's part of my job.and the other part is calibrating home theaters lol. (Look at the ASR site or AVS amplifier testing thread)

You could have just deactivated the dsp in the 6000 and it's FAR more powerful as tested. You loose the flexibility of properly setting up your shaker for simplicity. It's an older bob carver design, he used similar as a stand alone sunfire amp. The SA1000 actually only puts out about 700 watts 4 ohms tested. You would need a minidsp or you could have even done it in your inuke 6000, it's Dsp is actually pretty good, though your only be able to set 2 locations. Almost like watching lipsync out of wack. So, depending on where the sub is in the room, the bass note from the shakers would be not aligned with the action on the screen. Which you clearly didn't do, so they were not setup properly.ĭo you use room correction? Ideally, your need an unaltered lfe signal, using a Y, you are using the EQ and time delay of the initial sub that was EQ'd. If you had buttkickers on different furniture around the room, you'd have to set each individual shaker to the proper delay, relative to your seating position. I had 4 platinums, they were overpriced and under performing. I never said I had it setup that way, I said it could. and is practiced on Clarks own gaming chair integration and in their own literature on setup., you would be using the L&R signal vs LFE obviously.
#3D EARTHQUAKE ROOM UPDATE#
I will update this thread once I have them setup. This is well documented, so I wanted to try something else. That would just be annoying.Īlso, the delay in the BK LFE’s is annoying. Maybe you’re sitting on a concrete block? It sounds like you’re doing it wrong if they’re firing up to 500hz. Read some of the forums talking about shakers before you blurt your personal opinions which may or may not be relevant depending on people’s furniture. I also have different seating, so I’m sure that’s a major factor. Ordered a Dayton SA1000 this time for simplicity. Who are you talking about? When I had them setup before I used an behringer inuke 6000dsp. The clarks are the worst out of the bunch btw, just say no, better options. I personally have had all 4 and all the dayton offerings (dayton Aura= blah) I currently use 4 BK LFE and 4 Crowsons. the Minis on this thread? spend the extra and get the buttkicker 100% The take similar amp power but don't have quite the impact of the BK. Their thermal protection kicks in much faster than the buttkickers. TRhey also take the most time to dial in to get the proper feel.Įarthquake Q10B are similar to the buttkicker in terms are tactile feel but double the price. The need to be HPF at around 15hz to prevent bottoming out but good news, they are pretty much bullet proof. They are big and not the easiest to place and you again, will need a powerful amp for best results. 1 BK LFE has the same shaking force as 3-4 of the earthquake minis. they are amazing!!!īuttkicker LFE are the impact champs, the tactile feel is much stronger than the others. They just go under the feet of your sofa/chair and are good to 1hz but need a powerful amp. Their issue is they are expensive (assuming Golds or Platinums) and they are pretty weak.Ĭrowsons are the best all around but second in impact (to the buttkicker LFE) They are 600$ US per unit. That will make for a terrible experience (or a EQ'd and properly setup shaker, would make for a far greater experience I should say)Ĭlark Synthesis would be the brand for a music/movie system, for someone that wants a vibration vs a strong/impactful shake, as you can run them right up to 300-500hz if you wanted to. The main problem is ppl just running a y off their sub outputs and hooking them up with no EQ. There is setup, along with time delays and setting the optimal wattage for particular volume as well as EQ involved.
#3D EARTHQUAKE ROOM HOW TO#
These and the buttkickers use the same piston system, he doesn't know how to set them up. They are not more sensitive and don't play different notes than the buttkickers that one poster said. (Buttkicker, Crowson, Clark Synthesis, Earthquake) The earthquakes are the least popular of the main 4 popular shakers but still a solid choice on sale but only the normal sized version. For anyone looking, these are the mini versions of the Q10B and are very underwhelming.
